We’re Gen X empty nesters determined to travel the world … and figuring it out as we go. We hope to encourage, equip and empower you to follow your heart by sharing what we know. Update: October 2025

In early 2024, Google made massive changes to search; soon after, AI was stealing everyone’s work and churning it back out to users. Searches now take people to AI results and Reddit threads. We weren’t the only site affected; other writers who had spent decades creating content had their work stolen, and their incomes dropped to almost nothing within months. The travel blog industry (and writing in general) has taken a hit that most won’t recover from.

It breaks our hearts a bit to let Journey Here Travel go. The website will remain up for a year, with occasional updates. We’ll no longer operate as a business or as business partners but will remain lifelong friends. 

We hope that you have enjoyed this ride with us. We hope that maybe we inspired more than one of you to get out there and see a new corner of the world. We hope you continue to do so; the world is beautiful, and we need human connection more than ever.
